I need to climb myself out of this hole I’ve fallen in.

#Handlettering is one of those things that I love, yet I’m not very experienced with it. So for my current project for @mermaidsview, I’m trying it out. This is one of a few different looks I’m making

So recently I have received the opportunity to work on branding for my friend Sam’s Etsy shop, Mermaid’s View. Her work is amazing and a few days ago, she had sent me some of her items to experience what Mermaid’s View is all about. I wanted to share that experience here and start documenting the steps I am taking to translate her work into branding.

First observations: I overwhelmed with all of the different textures of her beautiful work. I’d like to capture these textures as well as the handmade feel to her work in the end result. Everything feels organic therefore that should shine through in the branding somehow.

The next step I am taking is making a mood board and finding other inspiration to sprout ideas from.
